1.  Northwest Animal Hopsital and Pet Care Center has been serving Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas for over a quarter of a century.  The doctors are seasoned clinicians(see About Our Doctors).  This means that they have treated numerous health care problems over the years and can offer that experience to you and your pet.  Dr Sudduth, the owner and hospital director has been a member of the Colorado Academy as a member/schlolar for several years.  This distinction is bestowed upon fewer than 1% of Colorado veterinarians.  The Doctor associates are also provided with outstanding continuing education opportunities.

3.  Our hospital and pet care center offers the convienence of a multi-service organization at one location in one facility.  Because of this it is easier to get  to know our clients and their pets very well,  as our patrons utilize the multi-services.  This allows us to deliver more personal care to both our clients and their pets.  Whether your pet needs advanced or routine health care, a place to call their home in our state-of-the-art boarding/doggie day care kennel with an on-site veterinarian available,  professional grooming, diets, prescriptions or supplies, you will find it at our facility.  And you might just find that new best friend through our Pet Adoption center.  We have donated our time and services to place over 1500 pets into qualified homes!

4.  In addition to the comprehensive services offered, you will also find that we are available to our clients 7 days a week, M-F 7-6, Sat 7-2 and Sun 9-12.  No other facility in town has made that comittment.  We do so because we are fully prepared to be there when you need us. Boarding and grooming pets may also be picked during those hours(note:holiday hours may be different. Please check with the hospital staff and see our calender on the front page of this web site),  prescriptions may be filled, diets and supplies dispensed.  Medical appointments are by appointment.  Emergency service is provided 24/7 through referral to the overnight emergency clinic, Animal Emergency Care 260-7141. Please call ahead if possible if you have an emergency.

5.  Many of our core hospital, grooming and boarding kennel staff  have been with our organization for more than a decade. For our profession this is unusual.  What it means for our clients is that we have a relationship on a first name basis with you and your pet. It also means that they have learned the ropes through our training along with their experience.

6.  Our doctors make every effort to stay abreast of the rapidly changing veterinary field through continuing education.  We can't think of another profession where the knowledge explosion is any greater than in our field.  We bring this knowledge with us to the exam room where we discuss options available for you and your pet.  We see our role as educators rather than salepersons. Our clients are always offered the standard of care available for their pet along with options which may be available.  We participate with our clients in determining what is best for their pet and together arrive at a strategy that's best.  An estimate for fees is provided and discussed with our clients.

7.  We diagnose before we treat.  We are not grab and dispense doctors without first understanding what the problems are. We believe in preventive medicine because your pet will have a better quality of life and we will save our clients unnecessary expense by preventing health issues in the first place.  We also believe that by recommending regular exams along with evaluation and monitoring of your pets organ function through blood profiles and urinalysis allows us to catch problems early before more serious health problems develop. We practice the old adage, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" .

8.  Our organization is not perfect and we don't win the health care battle 100% of the time.  This humbling and sober reality keeps us striving to be the best every day.
